Built 3 Fail-Safe Integration Patterns on Informatica CAI and CDI
![]()
Most organisations running integrations on Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services handle the same three types of work. Documents arrive continuously on a partner-controlled queue, supplier files must be reconciled against internal records every night, and third-party requests are answered minutes or days later. In each case, a missed record means lost revenue, a wrong charge, or a compliance gap.
Ksolves set out to make these integrations faster to deliver and safe from silent failures. The goal was a reusable accelerator with a proven architecture, documented design decisions, and the platform traps that Informatica’s documentation leaves out, already found and fixed.
Informatica integrations often fail without raising an alarm, leading to lost data, inaccurate figures, and avoidable costs.
- Silent Message Loss at Intake: Payloads that don't match declared inputs are dropped before processing, while broker counters still show a clean delivery.
- Reconciliation That Hides Findings: Inner joins discard single-sided records and cannot detect duplicates.
- Jobs That Succeed While Writing Nothing: A run that rejects every row still completes without failing.
- Unsafe Re-Runs: Repeating a failed nightly run double counts transactions.
- Duplicate Billed Third-Party Calls: Unique keys block duplicate rows only after the third party has already billed.
- Manual Follow-Ups on Deferred Answers: Pending third-party requests are chased by hand, and silence goes unnoticed.
Ksolves, an AI-first Big Data services company, built three fully tested integration patterns on Informatica CAI and CDI, documenting and fixing 7 platform traps along the way. CDI moves data sets, CAI handles events, calls, and alerts, and the two coordinate only through shared MySQL tables. Either side can change without breaking the other.
- Event-Driven Intake With Deliberate Rollback: A schema-free CAI event source accepts every payload, and rollback keeps refused messages for inspection. Business fields are derived at intake, with no batch window or poller.
- Full Outer Reconciliation With Duplicate Counting: CDI keeps single-sided records and classifies them as findings. A separate branch catches duplicates that joins miss.
- Data-Driven Run Status: Status is computed from the exception count, and tasks fail loudly. A summary is published every run, and alerts go out only on exceptions.
- Replay-Safe Upserts: Every write is keyed on run and transaction, so failed runs can be repeated without changing figures.
- Guard-Before-Call Idempotency: Request state is checked before contacting the third party. The callee's own request counter proves no duplicate call is made.
- Submit-and-Poll Orchestration: Two CAI processes coordinate through a shared state table. Pending requests resolve automatically, and silence is escalated.

The accelerator gives every new Informatica integration a proven, tested starting point in which failures are visible, and every record is accounted for.
- 0 Records Dropped: Every record is retained and graded, including single-sided ones.
- 5 Reconciliation Outcomes: Each transaction is classified as matched, amount mismatch, duplicate, billed-without-record, or dispensed-without-bill.
- 0 Duplicate Third-Party Calls: Repeat submissions never trigger a second billed call.
- 0 Double Counting on Re-Runs: Failed or partial runs can be repeated with figures unchanged.
- Zero-Touch Deferred Answers: Pending requests resolve automatically across scheduled runs, and silence is escalated.
Ksolves turned three common but error-prone Informatica workloads into proven, reusable integration patterns. Event intake, nightly reconciliation, and deferred third-party orchestration now run with visible failures, graded records, and replay-safe writes. All 7 database actions use native connectors, with custom code limited to a single publish relay. The result is faster delivery, lower risk, and trustworthy data from day one. Production sizing, high availability, and security hardening can be scoped for each engagement.
