Ksolves Unifies a Print-on-Demand Publisher's Storefront on Salesforce StoreConnect
![]()
A print-on-demand book publishing platform ran its storefront on PHP and WordPress, hosted on a self-managed Apache server. Customers configured detailed print jobs, choosing trim size, paper stock, binding, lamination, production speed, and add-ons, all inside a single dense checkout page that gave the business no visibility into where buyers dropped off. Ksolves migrated the storefront to Salesforce StoreConnect in a like-for-like move that preserved every existing capability while replacing the checkout, order management, and hosting layer underneath it. The project ran design through go-live in 6 months. Website configuration, product catalog, and order data now live in one Salesforce environment instead of three disconnected systems.
- No Checkout Funnel Visibility: The entire quote-to-payment flow lived on a single page, so GA4 could not distinguish steps in the journey and cart abandonment could not be measured at all.
- Dense Single-Page Checkout: Customers moved through quote configuration, shipping, and payment on one long page with no clear structure or progress indication.
- No Structured Case Management: Customer issues had no formal tracking, history, or reporting system behind them.
- Disconnected System Landscape: The website, product catalog, and order data lived in separate systems with no shared source of truth.
- Ongoing Server Maintenance Overhead: Running and patching a self-managed Apache environment consumed engineering time that could go elsewhere.
- Legacy Stack Limiting Future Integration: The PHP and WordPress foundation was not built to scale or to support modern tooling, including emerging AI and LLM-driven features.
Ksolves migrated the storefront onto StoreConnect, a managed eCommerce and POS package built natively on Salesforce. Because StoreConnect runs inside Salesforce rather than integrating with it from outside, website configuration, product catalog, and order data now share a single real-time source of truth.
- Save Quote Workflow: Customers configure a book by size, paper stock, binding, lamination, production speed, and add-ons, then save the configuration to finish later.
- Split Shipment Checkout: A single order can now ship to multiple addresses in one checkout pass.
- Redesigned 3-Step Checkout: The old single-page flow was replaced with quote review, shipping and address (including split shipment and store pickup), and payment as three distinct steps.
- Full Order Lifecycle Portal: Customers create quotes, upload PDF files for text and cover, track orders in progress, message support in-app, and request reprints exact or with changes.
- Sample Book Ordering Flow: A dedicated path for ordering sample copies before committing to a full print run.
- Free PDF Book Review Tool: Automated proof and report generation gives customers a self-service quality check before their files go to print.

- 6-Month Delivery Window: The full migration, from design through build, test, and go-live, was completed in 6 months without expanding scope beyond the client's existing feature set.
- 3-Step Checkout Replacing One Page: The dense single-page flow became a clean 3-step checkout of quote review, shipping and address, and payment, making cart abandonment measurable through GA4 for the first time.
- Unified System of Record: Website configuration, product catalog, and order data moved from separate, disconnected systems into one Salesforce environment.
- Native Case Management: Customer issues now route through structured Case Management under Agentforce Service, with history and reporting attached to every case.
- Branded, Trackable Email: Transactional and marketing emails moved from plain, untracked formatting to branded templates built in Lightning Email Builder.
- Zero Server Maintenance Overhead: Hosting moved fully onto Salesforce infrastructure, removing the ongoing burden of patching and maintaining a self-managed Apache server.
The client chose Ksolves’ Salesforce StoreConnect migration to move off an ageing PHP and WordPress storefront without disrupting the buying experience its customers relied on. Ksolves delivered a like-for-like migration that kept every existing capability intact while modernizing the checkout, order management, and hosting underneath it.
Before this engagement, the client ran a single-page checkout with no funnel visibility, no structured case tracking, and a self-managed server that needed ongoing upkeep. After the StoreConnect migration, the client has a 3-step checkout with measurable funnel data, native Case Management, branded email communications, and one Salesforce environment holding its website, products, and orders.
The platform now gives the client room to build on, from deeper automation to future AI and LLM-driven features, without another ground-up migration.
