  • Memory and disk alarm response with vm_memory_high_watermark tuning and disk_free_limit reconfiguration
  • Node failure detection, restart validation, and cluster re-join for single-node and multi-node deployments
  • Queue depth alerting for consumer lag, ready messages, and unacked message accumulation
  • Virtual host (vhost) lifecycle management, creation, permission assignment, and resource limits
  • Monthly health reviews covering queue type distribution, connection trends, and channel utilisation with architecture advisory

RabbitMQ Setup, Configuration, and Production Deployment

New RabbitMQ deployment, Spring Boot RabbitMQ integration, or migration from a legacy broker, we deliver the full stack production-ready with runbooks included.

  • Broker architecture design, vhost structure, exchange type, queue topology, binding strategy, and dead letter handling
  • RabbitMQ Cluster Operator deployment on Kubernetes with PodDisruptionBudget, persistent volumes, and quorum queue setup
  • Single-node to multi-node cluster setup with replication factor and partition handling (pause-minority or autoheal)
  • Spring Boot RabbitMQ integration via spring-rabbit, connection factory tuning, @RabbitListener concurrency, and DLQ wiring
  • Shovel and Federation plugin configuration for cross-cluster and cross-datacenter message routing
  • CI/CD pipeline for vhost, exchange, queue, and policy config using rabbitmqadmin and Infrastructure as Code tooling

RabbitMQ Version Upgrades and Zero Message Loss Migration

RabbitMQ version upgrades, classic to quorum queue migration, or on-premises to Kubernetes move, all executed with full regression validation before cutover.

  • Pre-upgrade audit covering deprecated features, Erlang/OTP compatibility, and plugin API changes
  • Rolling cluster upgrade via blue-green node replacement with zero broker downtime
  • Classic mirrored queue to quorum queue migration using rabbitmqctl set_policy with replication validation
  • On-premises to RabbitMQ Kubernetes Operator migration with persistent volume mapping and queue state preservation
  • Cross-broker migration from ActiveMQ or legacy AMQP brokers using Shovel-based message draining
  • Post-upgrade validation with updated runbook documentation covering procedures and behaviour changes

Cluster Performance Tuning and Queue Optimization

We fix RabbitMQ performance at the queue type, consumer prefetch, flow control, and exchange routing layers, not at the symptom layer.

  • Queue type assessment and migration from classic mirrored queues to quorum queues for write throughput and Raft-based HA
  • Consumer prefetch (basic.qos) tuning per consumer for throughput and memory balance under variable message rates
  • Flow control analysis to identify blocked connections from memory or disk alarms and resolve producer pressure
  • Dead letter exchange (DLX) and TTL design to prevent unbounded queue growth from rejected or unprocessed messages
  • Exchange and binding topology optimisation to reduce fanout overhead and routing table lookups
  • Publisher confirms and consumer acknowledgement mode review to balance delivery guarantees and throughput

Full-Stack RabbitMQ Visibility and Proactive Alerting

RabbitMQ monitoring services with rabbitmq_prometheus plugin instrumentation across critical broker signals and diagnostic reporting aligned with production best practices.

  • Grafana dashboards covering queue depth, message rates (publish, deliver, ack), consumer count, and node memory
  • Per-queue consumer lag alerting via rabbitmq_queue_messages_ready and rabbitmq_queue_messages_unacked to Slack, PagerDuty, or OpsGenie
  • Node observability via process memory, I/O ops, and Erlang GC metrics with root cause analysis on channel errors
  • Dead letter exchange (DLX) queue depth monitoring to detect message rejection spikes and consumer error patterns
  • Federation plugin and Shovel link health monitoring for cross-cluster and cross-datacenter pipelines

RabbitMQ Security Hardening for GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2

Authentication, encryption, access control, and audit logging across your RabbitMQ enterprise support deployment, without impacting message throughput or broker stability.

  • TLS on AMQP, AMQPS, MQTT, STOMP, and Management HTTP API with automated certificate rotation
  • LDAP authentication and OAuth 2.0 via rabbitmq_auth_backend_oauth2 for token-based access to Management UI and AMQP connections
  • Per-vhost permission policies restricting configure, write, and read to authorised applications only
  • Kubernetes network policies restricting AMQP (5672) and Management API (15672) ports by namespace and pod selector
  • Secrets migration from hard-coded credentials to Kubernetes Secrets, HashiCorp Vault, or AWS Secrets Manager

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before signing a RabbitMQ support partner

RabbitMQ not connecting is usually caused by the broker process being down, the AMQP port (5672 or 5671 for TLS) being blocked by a firewall or Kubernetes network policy, or the node being paused due to a pause-minority partition policy. Ksolves checks node status via rabbitmqctl status, reviews listener config in rabbitmq.conf, and inspects network policies to isolate the root cause.

A RabbitMQ memory alarm-triggered event blocks all producers when broker’s memory crosses vm_memory_high_watermark. The most common causes are missing dead letter exchange policies causing rejected messages to requeue infinitely, and oversized basic.qos prefetch counts. Ksolves audits queue depth, configures DLX policies, tunes prefetch per consumer, and recalibrates the memory watermark.

RabbitMQ consumer not receiving messages typically points to a missing or incorrect binding between the exchange and queue, the consumer channel being in a blocked state, basic.qos prefetch set to 0 with unacked messages exhausting the limit, or the queue being bound to a different vhost. Ksolves diagnoses binding configuration, channel state, and prefetch settings via the rabbitmq_management API.

A RabbitMQ channel closed error is most often caused by an unhandled exception in the consumer, a basic. nack or basic.reject without a dead letter exchange configured, exceeding the per-connection channel limit, or publishing to a non-existent exchange. Ksolves identifies the error code in the channel close reason, checks DLX configuration, and tunes channel limits in rabbitmq.conf.

Classic mirrored queues are deprecated in RabbitMQ 3.12. Ksolves migrates in batches using rabbitmqctl set_policy with a replication factor of 3, validates consumer reconnection and publisher confirms after each batch, and executes all cutovers during low-traffic windows with zero message loss.

Our RabbitMQ enterprise support covers 24×7 cluster health monitoring, memory and disk alarm response, quorum queue migration, version upgrades, TLS/LDAP/OAuth2 security hardening, federation plugin and Shovel management, Spring Boot RabbitMQ integration support, and a written post-incident report for every critical event.

Yes. Every RabbitMQ support contract includes 30-minute acknowledgment and 2-hour resolution for critical incidents, 1-hour acknowledgment and 6-hour resolution for high-severity issues, and 2-hour acknowledgment with 10-business-day resolution for normal requests. RabbitMQ SLA support applies 24×7 across all geographies without surcharge.

RabbitMQ managed support services from Ksolves cover bare-metal Linux, AWS EC2, GCP, Azure VMs, Kubernetes via RabbitMQ Cluster Operator and Helm, managed services (EKS, AKS, GKE), and hybrid topologies using the federation plugin or Shovel. We also support RabbitMQ on OpenShift and Rancher.

Our RabbitMQ commercial support covers Spring Boot RabbitMQ integration, including Spring Rabbit Connection Factory, RabbitTemplate tuning, @RabbitListener concurrency and prefetch, DLQ wiring via DeadLetterExchangePostProcessor, and publisher confirms via ConfirmCallback. We resolve connection pool exhaustion, listener thread starvation, and message conversion errors.

Yes. Ksolves provides RabbitMQ support services in the USA with US-business-hours-aligned and global 24×7 follow-the-sun coverage. US clients receive a formal RabbitMQ support contract with documented SLA tiers, a dedicated Jira portal, and quarterly architecture reviews.
